When Cleave
Hattersley, Kinky Friedman and Billy Joe Shaver
decided to "put on a show," they called a few old
friends to see if they wanted to play. Sweet Mary
Hattersley picked up her fiddle and stepped on
stage with Washington Ratso and Little Jewford to
reincarnate the Texas Jewboy, Jesse "Guitar" Taylor
took a break from the Joe Ely Band to sit in with
Billy Joe, and took it on the road... well - sort
of on the road. They opened at the legendary Broken
Spoke in Austin on Wednesday night, played Friday
at a little place in San Antonio called Carlsbad
Tavern, and brought it home to Cheatham Street
Warehouse for another one of those spiritual
moments in Texas Music.
Thanks for letting
us be a part of the magic.
