Cheatham Street Warehouse/Luckenbach Cultural Exchange
The "Cheatham St. Warehouse/Luckenbach Cultural Exchange" begins February 16 with the Cheatham Street delegation (Kent Finlay and Adam Carroll) traveling to Luckenbach (pop. 3), to carry some culture to them. They'll sing some of their "made-up" songs for the folks -- and talk to them about what that other fork is for when you eat at a fancy cafe. The show starts at 7:00.
Soon after, a delegation from Luckenbach will journey to Cheatham Street Warehouse to bring some of their culture to that already well known Texas culture center.
Each month during the year Kent Finlay will carry a Cheatham Street delegation to Luckenbach on the Thursday nearest the full moon (aka: Full Moon Thursday) -- and a Luckenbach delegation will journey to Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos, Texas, on the Tuesday closest to the new moon (aka: new moon Tuesday).
Correspondance between the cultures....
Kent,
I'm working on our "best" Tobacco Spitters.
Are we going for distance or accuracy?
Also shouldn't we have aTravelin' Trophy for these bouts?
My Special Suprized Guest on march 28th will be Jed & Kelley from Memphis by way of Luckenbach.
They have become one or two of our favorites since they played out here last February and at The Fandango in September.

I'm bringing just one tobacco spittin' person, I believe. Maybe we could have a one on one match between your best and my only spitter -- and yes, a travelin' trophy would be in order. Maybe a spittoon or something - or just a normal trophy would work . . . and let's go for distance this time. By the way, are we going to have a ladies' division, or will the ladies have to compete against the men? I suggest (in support of sexual equality) we have a one on one ladies' spit off in addition to a one on one men's spit off. I'm not sure I can find a girl spitter, but I'll look. The Great " Luckenbach vs Cheatham Street" Spit Wars will no doubt someday lead to a new Olympic event - but the competition is no doubt best suited to your facilities. I suggest that Luckenbach should host the Olympics on the year that "tobacco spittin'" becomes recognized as an international sport. Luckenbach certainly has my vote - but I'm gonna want something from you in return, of course.
We are looking forward to the "exchange" next week. I think we'll be travellin to Luckenbach in the Cheatham Street '78 Cadi limo this time if we can save up enough money for gas.
Later, Kent
STAY TUNED FOR CULTURAL UPDATES!!
